The big day is finally here!  You and your fiancé are busy prepping and priming, meanwhile the decorators, caterers, florists, and our band…are setting the scene!
We thought our clients my benefit from a step by step of the wedding plan! We take a look at a typical Parkside Drive live event, to help our clients visualize the flow for the day.

..Please note, the listed times are just a guideline to help visualize the schedule.  All events are different, and these times will vary based on your itinerary!

Wedding Plan Step #1: Heavy Lifting

Our set-up team will arrive at your event space, typically around noon.  This is obviously day-of schedule dependant, and venue dependant.  Fortunately, these details will have all been worked out with the banquet captain, the wedding co-ordinator, and yourselves long before.

Load-in time!  The team now will carefully move all the equipment from the loading area, into the event space There are often several set-ups (such as one spot for dinner, a different area for dancing, cocktail on the patio etc)  The band will set-up the largest performance area first.  99% of the time, that’s the dance band after-dinner.  Then they will complete all the other satellite set-ups, and still not a single early bird guest in sight.
All the heavy lifting completed and the space tidied and beautified hours before anyone walks in the door.

Step #2 Check 1..2..

Once the equipment is in place, a thorough soundcheck to make sure sounds as nice as it looks. Testing the microphones, mixers, speakers and everything else needs to happen long before your guests arrive. Now our wedding plan has moved past the set-up and the wedding can begin.

Step #3 The “I do’s”

Performance #1 Ceremony.  Often at a separate location, our trios and duos provide warm ambient sounds as guests get situated.  Then, on cue from the co-ordinator, or a good friend, the ceremony begins.  The musicians several selections, providing beautiful accompaniment during the “I do’s”  One last song as the guests walk back up the aisle and then it over to cocktail hour. Step #4 Perhaps a drink?

Everyone’s second favourite part of a wedding! A cocktail, some snacks, and a little live jazz to set the mood.  Our trios and duos add the perfect tone while guests mix and mingling.  Soon its time for dinner and guests move over to the seating area for dinner. Step #5 Dinner is served

At this point, guests are settled, the MC greets them and the wedding party is introduced.  Our DJ service will handle all the music and lighting, and after the couples grand entrance, we move into dinner service.   Some couples prefer to have their first dances during dinner, some prefer at the end of dinner service.  In either case the band is on-site and ready to go.  Some speeches, a few courses of deliciousness, maybe a little live music, and we move into everyone’s favourite part of any event

Step #6 Party time!

The bar is open, the band sounds amazing, and everyone’s having the time of their lives.  Bouquet tosses, choreography, silliness, great times…all lives right here. Oh and we go late! Most of our clients opt for 3×50 minute sets, with 2 x 20 DJ sets in- between…All night long

Step #7 Lights on, Load out

Finally, after about 4 hours of incredible music, an absolutely incredible day; the bar closes, the guests depart and the crew begins striking the equipment for load out.  Everything unplugged, taken down, cased up, and rolled out.  This process takes just under an hour, and doesn’t start until the evening concludes.

There it is!  A great day and a great wedding! Time for the honeymoon 😉
